What do you have in common with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks? You’ve all got mail.
I know you are busy this week. Today, on the 37th day of lent, take just a few minutes to delete 37 emails. Don’t read the emails, just delete them.
Your social folder can probably all be deleted and so can your promotions. Delete reminders for meetings you have already attended. Delete coupons that are expired or that you know you aren’t going to use. Delete those PayPal messages (you could look up your account if you need the information). Delete shipping notifications for items you have already received. If you aren’t sure if you need the message, skip it and move on. Just quickly delete as many useless emails as you can.
You might feel like this isn’t accomplishing much, but, it really does make a dent. And each little dent will chip away at the massive number of junk emails that are in your way when you are trying to find one important message.
Here’s a little memory sound bite, a gift from me to you, for anyone who remembers what that sound felt like. I can only compare it to the feeling I get from the smell of playdough.
The AMAZINGLY SIMPLE way to work towards a more manageable inbox.
