If the title of this blog made you start to sing some old school Salt-n-Pepa then kudos to you. If not, watch this video. (Video NOT G rated)
On this 33rd day of lent, I would like you to remember that Jesus was only 33 when he died. What a short life! HE accomplished an amazing amount of work in such a short life. HE was ready to die when the time came. He left nothing worldly for his family to have to take care of after his death. Not leaving a burden on your family, is what Swedish death cleaning is all about.
Swedish death cleaning or dostadning (do means death in Swedish and stadning means cleaning) is the idea that you should be slowly decluttering as you age so your death isn’t as much of a burden on your family. You can’t know when you are going to kick the bucket so everyone should be doing this, not just the older folks out there.
I will write more about this subject in future posts. Today remove 33 items from your house that your family would not appreciate having to handle upon your demise. The easiest way to do this is to think about what might embarrass you if you died today and your loved ones had to go through your stuff.
The AMAZINGLY SIMPLE way to prepare for your imminent death.
